Attendance is open to all members of the analytical sciences community with an interest in advanced mass spectrometry and related techniques…

The "6th International MS Symposium" is the latest in an occasional series of scientific meetings initiated (by Micromass) in 1998. Today these meetings are sponsored by Waters MS Technologies. The format is that of a legitimate scientific meeting, open to all, that typically attracts Ca 150+ delegates.

The symposium includes Waters European High Resolution MS User Meeting – offering (in parallel) software, instrument and applications clinics for users of Waters High Resolution MS based System Solutions. The forward to the 1998 book of abstracts sums up the original vision, which remains true today…

“a unique scientific forum focusing on high resolution MS and related techniques - that transcends the conventions of a vendor’s user  meeting”.

The City of Manchester [ www.visitmanchester.com ] will provide an appropriate setting for the conference given its historical association with John Dalton and modern mass spectrometry. The venue for the meeting, the Manchester Deansgate Hilton Hotel, provides excellent modern conference facilities and accommodation in the city centre. The hotel is very close to the recently refurbished Museum of Science & Industry where one of the conference social events will be held.
